Hollywood Haitian-Canadian Actor (Rubens) Benz Antoine was born & raised in Montreal, Canada. He lived there until the age of 4, before moving to Toronto and then California; where he, at the tender age of nine was enrolled in a school of performing arts by his mother. Although he never attented because his family moved back to Canada, the acting seed had been planted. Then, at the age of 20, while reluctantly accompanying his girlfriend to an audition, he was coaxed into reading for a small role in a corporate video. After booking his 1st professional audition, he followed that up with a walk on audition for Sirens and earned a small part as a drug dealer. That was when he fell in love with the craft of acting. So he decided to attend theatre school in Montreal at Concordia University, but after only 18 months of training he dropped out and moved to Vancouver, Canada. After 4 successful years in Vancouver which saw him land over 20 film & television roles; including "Crabman" in Romeo Must Die, he then moved to Toronto,Canada where he landed landed the coveted role of "Detective Jimmy Weeks" on the Canadian police drama Blue Murder in 2002. Although he continued on Blue Murder in 2003, he also made his directorial debut in the film "Decorating 101" which is sure to make waves in the not so distant future.
