BIOGRAPHY

Don Polo was born in Pointe des Palmistes in the city of Port-de-Paix, as a kid he used to sing in Baptist church and introduced him to music. So, he used to go to the the church twice a day and practice a scale that he likes. As a teenager he moved to Miami where he attended Lindsey Tech and was transfered to City College after three months where he studied Hotel management.  Don Polo is a Phlebotomist, but this takes a backseat in his daily life, because he has embraced the music field and is tempered with Compas music with a homegrown appreciation of the genre. He has been a DJ for forteen years, and has the ear to appreciate good music. Polo began to sing since 2003, but he recorded his first album tout moun sou do five years later. From the onset of his career, he has divided his time between recording several projects he took part in such as Pouki se nou, a song produced after the earthquake in 2010.

DON POLO

Don Polo who is repeatedly found in collaboration with many other artists such as Boom Squad, and is the author of a hit song performed by an artist named Lindy. In 2010, he began releasing his first album on his own. Tout Moun Sou Do has seen the work of many musicians such as Kenny Desmangles, Gazman Pier, Ralph Conde, Armstrong Jeune, Dabenz Chery, Larry Legend, just to name a few. During interviews, he does not discuss the meanings of his lyrics, preferring instead to let the lyrics speak for themselves, but he has told Showbiz FM that he invited as many as musicians to play on his first album in order to give it a different flavour. Polo's musical interests eventually drew him into the fledgling new scholl Compas genre. He has enjoyed a career as new artist in the Haitian Music Industry (HMI) and now she is going with full force with his second album that features the best of today`s Compas players such as Nickenson Prudhomme, Billy ``the kid` Philome, Dano Eugene, Eddy August,  Elie Lapoint, El Pozo, Ralph Menelas, Gabriel Laporte, Alain Fleurine. His second album will showcase for both his songwriting and vocal abilities. The disc features the singles, ``Lanmou`` and ``Wale``. Most of the songs were written by him. Contrary to his first album, Don Polo has opted to be the only one that sings on it in order to make him more visible as a serious singer.
