Etzer Laurore aka "Etzer Nubazz”, Musician, Singer, Songwriter, and Producer. A native of Brooklyn, New York, knew he had the inventiveness of a great musician, only at the age of 13. Etzer’s instruments of choice, which he taught himself to play while in high school, are the drums, congas, and percussions. The love for Kompa music was instilled in him by his Haitian parents with his father also being a musician; Etzer knew this was the career for him. At the age of 17, he embarked in the music industry as a member of several bands such as Lakol, Jet-X, and New York All-stars, performing with talented artists like Emeline Michel, Eric Virgal, while travelling and performing live in countries like the French Antilles, Paris, France, the Bahamas and of course Ayiti Cheri. In 1993, Etzer decided to do his first solo project, with the collaboration of 39 prime musicians of the industry, with the album “ETZER BAZZ", in which he independently produced.

ETZER NUBAZZ

The first single, “Apiye", which featured Ronsard Robillard on vocals, hit the Haitian music circuit and became a major hit in Haiti; that experience confirmed Etzer’s beliefs that he had the talent and discipline to provide melodies and lyrics that music lovers would enjoy for years. Influenced by a diverse mixture of beats such as Kompa, R & B, Jazz, Reggae, Zouk, and Gospel, Etzer is always searching for different musical styles and favors to incorporate into his music. During his absence from the stage, he continues to take a behind the scenes approach to music working as a producer and mixer, with artists like Ralph Conde of Nu Look, Tantan of Lakol, and several other prolific musicians and artists.
Etzer’s love and respect for Kompa and Zouk music has influenced the much anticipated second album due out next year, which will feature some of HMI superstars such as Mika Ben, Olivier Duret, singer and rapper Stichiz, Naelle of Paris, France, and yes, the legend Mr. King Kino. This album promises to provide innovative lyrics, fusion beats, and melodies that will have you singing, dancing, and requesting the songs over and over again. Etzer has found a place in peoples’ hearts with his exceptional melodic capabilities and has captured the attention of audiences who don’t usually tune into Kompa music.
So, HMI, Kompa, and Zouk music lovers around the world, keep your eyes open, and listen as this star is about to reemerge. His personality and vibrant approach to music will keep his future bright.
