Haitian singer, songwriter and actor, Luck Mervil was born in Port au Prince on October 20, 1967. Though he has Haitian roots, he is more famous in Quebec, Canada where he has won a number of awards for his belief and support for the Quebec independence. In recognition of his devotion to promoting that independence, the Saint Jean-Baptiste Society declared him the Patriot of the Year. Luck Mervil came into the limelight in 1993 after he released a song titled Rude Luck, before proceeding to release Two and Revolution in 1995 and 1998. He ushered the new millennium with entries into the movie world, through Betty Fisher et autres histories where he featured as François Diembele. He also acted and composed Le Goût des jeunes filles.
Luck Mervil has also featured a lot in Television through TV series called Sauve qui peut. He has also hosted shows such as MixMania and Piment Fort.  He was also the Canadian Centre for International Studies and Cooperation spokesman, after which he created his own organization called Vilaj vilaj in 2010.
