Ralph Menelas aspires for parliamentary office

This year is the year people can start registering to run for office in the 2014 legislative and municipal elections in Haiti. Most of the favourites have yet to file their nomination papers, but already a few political hopefuls are starting to show up on the official candidate list. They are musicians or radio hosts or anyone related to the Haitian Music Industry. Among them is Le Konpa co-founder, Ralph Menelas who has decided to take the plunge on day one. Ralph Menelas, whose real name is Ralph Phanor is almost universally reviled for his role as a major musician and very talented artist. Ralph has moved to Haiti and he`s about to take part in the legislative election where he will run as Deputy of Delmas, Vibznation.com has learned. Contributing to the Haitian society by becoming a responsible and productive citizen is a hallmark of manliness, and running for elected office is considered the pinnacle of civic responsibility. Today, running for elected office is still one of the best ways that a popular musician can contribute to society. There are a lot of people these days that complain about the state of the Haiti`s Parliamnet and lament that the only people holding office, from the Higher chamber to the lower chamber, are a bunch of lousy, corrupted bums. Tha`s why we`ve seen so many artists getting into politics. While being a candidate in a local political campaign can be physically and mentally challenging, it is also a personally rewarding opportunity to become more involved in Haiti`s future. We wish Ralph Menelas Phanor good luck.
