BIOGRAPHY
Sabrina Kolbjornsen was born in Queens , New York and was raised in Miami , Fl. She started to show off her natural talent for singing at a very young age, coaxed by her father who would have her sing for family and friends at parties . Her first musical influences were Gloria Estefan , Donna Summers and of course Micheal Jackson . She participated in school choirs , talent shows and county fairs . Her first interest for kompa music began when spending summer vacation in Haiti she was given two albums ….DP EXPRESS and SCORPIO . She never thought for a moment that she would end up singing this type of music ….not at all !!
One of her first recordings was Ti Bway with the Nouvelle Generacion group Skandal . She later became one of the founding members of the all female band Riske with her lifetime friend and collegue Sandra Jean. Sabrina was a big part of the female kompa revolution to say the very least ! She performed for over a year with one of the biggest kompa bands of all time ..System Band ! Her schooling did not end there. She also sang and recorded with Superstars of New York where she had a number one hit single and video called La vie a bel .
Throughout her career she has recorded with artists such as Dadou Pasquet (MINI RECORDS) , Robert Martino , Claude Marcelin , Cubano (SKAH SHA ) , SHLEU SHLEU and RARA MACHINE . She now lives in Argentina , but could not resist the call to come together with her sisters and perform on this project called KOMPA O FEMININ .
